At long last! The completion and release of SIDES! Nearly a decade in the realization!

I indeed had all but finished a massive (five hour!) collection of songs in late 2008 through mid-2009 that were all meant for the same "box set": SIDES. While never being intended for actual vinyl pressing, SIDES was envisioned as a series of LPs featuring (naturally) home recordings of myself playing all instruments, but with a different genre or aspect (or side of my musical persona) represented on each album side. Never mind the fact that some of these "sides" would be way too long to fit on a conventional LP. As the fabrication of any such package is imaginary, it is no great stretch to imagine the technology being a bit broader than what is allowed in the "real world."

The first SIDE, the flagship, is an eclectic set of edgy progressive pop called "Hope in Bad Spring". It includes Arthur Russell inspired funk disco ("East Village Rent Party"and "Der Rocketemensch"), 4AD-style shoegaze ("Nostalgia as Perfume"), and a fierce Captain Beefheart and his Magic Band impression ("Sailor Mouth"). The final track is a hijacking of a song that was once a different song written by Matt Dellapina.  His version is way better, but this one is wacky and annoying and has Klaus Kinski all over it.
