Panzer Automat was my name for an imagined post-punk band. This EP, more or less, is a statement of intent from this group. The flagship track, "Might Try to Kill You" was intended to fuse the cyclical call-and-response song structures from Talking Heads' (and Eno's) Remain in Light with the thin, abrasive sonic palette of bands like Wire or Gang of Four. There are several ridiculous spoken word "personas" featured on the track (including one that is a blatant Jello Biafra impression). The next two short tracks are hardcore miniatures. The final track, jarringly, is a treated midi piano improvisation that is as contemplative and full-of-shit as the Kantian concept it is named after.
