One of the first semi-large scale concepts I recorded was this EP of tone poems based on characters from the Thousand and One Nights, or at least from John Barth's re-imagining of them in his Dunyazadiad (part of the tryptych Chimeras). The musical world exists between my approximation of Downtown NY and Bay Area scenes with the Skyway to Fantasyland passing through the Persian room in "it's a small world". Doom coda "1001" notwithstanding, these pieces are inauthentic magic carpet rides with some very deep odd-time grooves. Mostly instrumental; beware the singing serpent in "Shahryar".
